The best things in life are free…

I love waking up in the morning and watching the sunrise.  The golden glow from the sun shines further than the eye can see.  The birds are singing beautiful songs to bring in the new day.  And I can hear the wind whistling songs through the trees.

I love driving back roads to look at the fields.  I get lost in the beauty that the worked fields produce.  How something so small as a seed can take root and completely change the landscape.  The fields completely change depending on the crop they have in them.

I love the briskness of the mornings while I work alongside my husband.  Needing 2 layers just to step out the door while in just a few hours the warmth of the sun being enough to keep me warm.

I love hearing the sound of the turbine engine and the smell of jet fuel of my husband’s plane taking off the runway to assist a farmer with crop production.  I love even more hearing that plane return home.

I love seeing my husband the first time in the morning and the last time at night.

I love having my children sit on my lap – even when one is 6’.  They will always be my children and I will always be their mother.

I love my animals and am filled with joy when they are as excited to see me as I am them.

I love my home and my yard.  They both take so much work and yet they are worth the investment to me.

I love my friends and family beyond measure.

These are some of the best things in my life – and they are free.

But there is still a cost for them.  I still have to work for it.  I still have to want it.  I still have to earn it.

They are free – but I still have to work for it.
