In observance of mental health day

It’s interesting, isn’t it?  How we go around masquerading ourselves from those around us.  Covering up and hiding how we are truly feeling.  Pulling the reality of what we believe into ourselves and shielding the world from us.  Almost like they couldn’t handle or accept us and all that we entail.

That in turn, pull us farther into isolation.

Farther into shame that we are carrying.

More alone than we could have ever imagined.

And all the while we believe that being alone solves the issues of emptiness and darkness when in reality it just compounds the problem.

Our lives are made up of highs and lows.

You are not the only one who has felt the pain that burdens your heart.

You are not broken.

You are not a burden.

It’s just a moment of time and you will work through this.

There is a day just ahead where the sun will come out again.

Your heart won’t always be this heavy and you will feel hope.

This period of time in your life will be just a memory of something you endured.

Something that made you stronger.

And you may even find yourself grateful for one lesson or another.

In the meantime,

Even though you may feel alone, even though you may feel singled out or abandoned, there is always someone who will listen.  Someone who will just sit with you in silence.

Because you are important.

You are needed.

You are loved.
